GOODBYE 2011
I hope that everyone i love had a fun year no matter what life threw at them. Many things are still going to stand in our paths toward our dreams and though it may seem hard and things may not go the way we had planned or the way we wanted it, they always turn out just fine.
Lie To Me Korean Drama (just bought!!!)
I just bought a new drama called 'Lie To Me' starring Kang Ji-hwan and my favourite Korean actress, Yoon Eun-hye!
This is a Romantic Comedy (which i love watching) about single girl called Kong Ah-jung who just turned 30. She's never felt any pressure to get married saying that she can get married any time she wants, whenever she wants. However, something completely uncalled for happens. She meets her frenemy who stole her first love. One thing led to another and she lied that she was married to Hyun Ki-joon, a successful hotel CEO from an affluent family.
Hyun ki-joon, who is unaware of all this suddenly has a new wife names Ah-jung :) After hearing this absurd rumour, he rushes to Ah-jung and demands an explanation. However, things are later made worse and they pretend to be married for a month.
Their relationship is further complicated when Ki-joon's ex-fiancee and close friend of his brother's, Oh Yoon-joo, reappears in his life. This comical adventure of love is about to begin....
Anyways, i'm only at the 5th or 6th episode so i can't really judge how good this drama is but whatever show that stars Yoon Eun-hye is sure to move me. I've teared at a few scenes already you know :)

It's finally here
31 Dec has arrived. There was never a year which i hated, somehow, i would look back and reminisce about something that'd make me smile.
I tried doing that just now for this year. Anything at all that would make me go 'how i wish i could turn back time'. but NO. None at all. This year was a tiring, stress filled year. I hate it to the very core. 2011 was all about adapting to change. I spent 5 years in secondary school, my home for what felt like an eternity and i couldn't just 'switch' to Poly Mode. I missed my friends, my dear teachers, the caring enviroment, the fun filled lessons. Then suddenly, i'm whisked off to this foreign learning environment without my friends beside me. I just couldn't do it.
In addition to the tutorials, presentation, work and exams, i had to worry about whether i'd make a friend here. it had been a tough time for me. It's not gonna end any sooner though. There's lots more where that came from. But i know i'll survive.
Other than that, 2011 was alright but it's not something i'd look back at.

What i did on Christmas Eve
I went christmas shopping with my good friend, Felicia! Initially, we were supposed to go to Ritz Carlton to check out how they service customers and such but because i was hungry, we had to stop by a Korean food shop.
Both of us ordered crispy chicken something something. It was a something i didn't know how to pronounce so i can't really remember what it's called.
Anyways, it tasted really good but the noodles felt like they were packet noodles bought from the market. Anyways, it still tasted great. Maybe my judgement was a little off due to my growling stomach.

The Kimchi was really good!! I know this part that my judgement is NOT off. I love Kimchi and i know this is an ok.

How we spent christmas
Initially, mum wanted to bring us out to probably swensons but nooo, my brothers said that it would probably be closed since it's christmas. Come on! This is Singapore! shops don't close unless it's Chinese New Year! They deserved it when mum came home ad told them that the shops were ALL open. By then, she was tired and didn't want to go back to the plaza anymore.
My sis said instead that she always wanted to try out the police stances and actions with their guns as they break into hideouts of criminals. Luckily, my brothers have lots of toy guns- water guns, styrofoam bullet guns etc. We had enough for 5 people. But just as she was about to fake plan out how we would go about breaking into the hideout (our brother's room), i suggested a war.
Everyone got really excited, myself included.

Fourth: Dhamir
Fifth: Iman
Round 1: Rin, Me, Dhamir, Iman VS Danial
We built up our barriers using mattresses, pillows, sofas, chairs, anything we could find. We rearranged the furnitures as well :)
We lost by the way. We were scattered everywhere in the living room and all of us got shot by the styrofoam bullets by Danial.
Round 2: Danial and I VS Rin, Dhamir and Iman (Faces who looked like Dad's VS faces who looked like Mum's)
I hid behind the Angry Birds mattress while Danial hid behind that first barrier. I was his backup in case the others come forward. haha it was fun cause my team WON
Round 3:
Boys VS Girls
Which means my sis and i against THEM. You can say we're gonna die. My sis said the same too. Why? Firstly, we were outnumbered. Secondly, we had lousy guns compared to the boys and lastly, we can't plan out how to kill THEM. In the end, i exchanged my gun with one of theirs and my sis said she will 'sacrifice herself' for us to win. Which means we will both charge at the boys with me right behind her. She will shoot at least one of them while i handle the rest.
Guess what? WE WON. Danial was surprised at the attack and demanded a rematch (he's kind of a sore-loser)
We were tired after all the war game and the house was a mess. Mum came out from her room and shouted "What is this?!!?! Clean up!!"

Rin (who has lousy planning skills by the way) was the leader. In the end, i just said to go with our instincts since her plan had lots of flaws (she initiated moving to places where movements were restricted or were Danial's territory)

There's gonna be lots of parties around in Singapore. There's the countdown at Marina Bay
And countdowns at other TV channels. I'd rather stay at home, and do what i like to end my year. Sitiing comfortably on a cushy sofa with milk tea in hand and a nice chocolate cake on my lap while watching a movie.
Yes. i don't care what you think but this is how i want to end my year. It's not that i don't enjoy such festivities, I just don't appreciate loud music blasting in my ears, sweaty loud and probably drunk people surrounding me while i enjoy the party and even the long ride home when all you want to do is lie on your bed, snuggled warm in your blankets.
I do enjoy though, a party with a group of friends to end the year. That, i like :)

Our very first Christmas
My family don't celebrate christmas so this year especially, we decided to do so. with secret santa. Just my siblings and i while mum bought presents for all of us. In the end, i spent more than $60 worth of presents for everyone in the household. Right after that, i told my sister to remind me never to do this again. And if we have to, just from Daiso (Japanese marchandise store where everything costs $2).
Anyways, we don't have a christmas tree so my sister somehow purchased a mini one from Daiso. It's white in colour and she decorated it with lights. Our first christmas tree! (seriously, we celebrate many other festive occasions cause we're mixed blood but this is the very first time we celebrated Christmas so we're really excited even though it's small)
Then under the christmas tree are our presents!!!

No looking back
I have had many regrets in my life and had my fair share of disppointments but none compared to what i'm feeling right now. I do not have a good CCA record and just like that, i've lost a chance to be in the a program in my school. I've only 12 points and to get in the program, i must have 15 points. I'm short of 3.
I lost so many opportunities to get CCA points. Blame it on my stupid decision making skills. The worst thing is the fact that i have only 12 points. For the whole year, i've only friggin accumulated 12 points. I want to kill myself =_=
The only thing i can do right now is keep moving on. There's no turning back. Everything happens for a reason even though it's not what you wanted.

New Year is coming
So, New Year is coming. Then soon it will be the Lunar New Year. Next Year it will be the year of the Dragon. Yes, DRAGON. For those who have absolutely no idea what i'm talking about, in the lunar calendar, there is a zodiac of sorts.
Each year is a different animal and there are 12 animals so it rotates every 12 years. The animals are: (according to who came first in the Zodiac race)

Donating
After the being blind incident, i thought about donating my eyes to someone in the future when i leave this world. I want that someone to see this world the way i did. How beautiful it is.

I was watching The Big Bang Theory when i felt like drinking a cup of Milo so i got on my feet and walked towards the kitchen to get a snack or two when i dropped the Cable control. The batteries came right out when it hit the ground. I panicked that it would not work anymore plus it's our only device to control the cable thingy. I ran to the room and not realising that the floor was just mopped by our domestic helper, i fell on my back.
The back of my head took a big hit and was in pain. It felt like a big rock was repeatedly being hammered on the back of my head. I clutched my head, turned myself to the side, curled my legs and bascially laid in a foetus position. I was in pain, i'll tell you that. My ears were ringing and my vision was getting blur. In a few seconds as i tried to lie my back against the wall, my surroundings turned black. All i could see was black with white moving lines! I could not hear my voice clearly. It was like a muffled sound. My eyes were wide open in the middle of the day and i could see ABSOLUTELY NOTHING! It was all pitch black. I was blind. It was like that for about a whole minute and i could do nothing. I was just there lying against a wall i can't even see!
I just sat there thinking that this was it. My whole life ended just like that. My whole 18 years of life and that was it. I haven't even went to places i wanted to see, things i wanted to do and people i want to love. I was a little scared and didn't think much yet. Then my domestic helper handed me a cup of water and told me to calm down, probably say some prayers. I took a sip and tilted my head to the side.
Little by little, my vision started to come back. Initially, everything was blur. I closed and opened my eyelids a few more times until i gained my full vision back. It felt great. It really did. And i was just happy that i could see again. I did not think of anything else. Just the fact that i could see this world again.

School Visit
On Day 5, we went to Kanagawa Prefectural Yokohama Senior High School of International Studies.
The following are facts about the school:
Established in April, 2008.
Educational Goals: We foster youths with foreign Language abilities and information technology so that they can play an active role in the future as leaders not only in the Japanaese society but also in the international society.
Educational Policy:
We encourage to our students a profound sense of independence, self -reliance and humanity as well as our policy to foster dignified students equipped with clear sight and calm judgment.
On the trip there, my friends and i made new friends: Rina and Hitomi and of course i asked them how to write 'I Love You' in Japanese! (in the post above) It was one of my M.Os of going to the school visit. The Vice-Principal was extremely polite. Before we could get to the school however, we had to walk up a big hill. It was just a coincidence that my friend, Shu Yun and i were the first pair in front following the VP. He asked a lot of questions, like are we seniors etc. Then there was one particular question that he asked that left me a little stumped: "What do you like about Japan?"
I love Japan, i really do but i really don't know how to answer it at that time because my mind went absolutely blank. In the end, i said "SUSHI!!!"
Yup! I said sushi and he became very happy :) I like sushi but not the raw type. I have a weak stomach and i don't think eating raw food will make it any better.
So, once we reached the school and settled down in one of the classes, my group and i met Yasuda Hitomi and Nakamura Rina. They are both very pretty, polite, gentle and charming! :) i really like them. Then i asked them to help me write cute/pretty, i love you and handsome in Japanese with all my colourful markers that i poured right out on the table.
My friends and i are wearing the same shirt-our physical education T-shirt. The two wearing the neck ribbons are the pretty Rina and Hitomi!
My friends and i felt really bad because we actually bought presents for the students when we were to meet them but before this school, we actually went to another one and i gave the presents to some random girls who i never even interacted before! I thought that the school was the only school we were visiting and so i didn't want the presents to go to waste. In the end, we came to this fantastic school and met some really great people but had no gifts for them in return for their hospitality! I felt really bad.
There was nothing i could do and we went on to have a tour of their school and facilities. It was magnificent! They had a lot of indoor courts that was way bigger than our ONE court back in Singapore (Singapore IS a small country).

Time's running
out.. I mean till the end of the year. I have never regretted one year in my life. But this year, i do. A lot. I've had many bad moments, choices and decisions. I don't think the good and bad parts are at all balanced. it was like 75% bad moments, 10% fine and the last 15% the good ones. Seriously, i've really had a bad year. Just to name a few of the bad ones:
Overall, i hated 2011. 2011 was all about change and adaptation to me. All the stuff about new subjects, study environment, school, area and stuff. Next year, i'll try to live it up. I'm gonna set my resolutions for next year so 2012, GET READY FOR ME.
- Did not choose my CCA right
- CCA not enough participation
- Academically, education and exams are stressful
- about the point above, duh!
- Friends
- Enemies
- Not getting outside my comfort zone enough
- Not having a Bike
Overall, i hated 2011. 2011 was all about change and adaptation to me. All the stuff about new subjects, study environment, school, area and stuff. Next year, i'll try to live it up. I'm gonna set my resolutions for next year so 2012, GET READY FOR ME.
Deep Thinking
There has been a lot on my mind lately with the year about to end and all. I read something from a magazine about this guy talking about the year ending and i quote:
There's something uncomfortably final about the end of the year. With the end of a great book, you can always go back and re-read the best bits. With a movie, you rent the DVD. But with New Year's Eve, it's right there in your face. It's the end of the year. It's gone. You can't get it back. There's no rewind button. -Jason HahnSometimes, what he says really makes me realise what i never did. He talks about lots of things like how Singaporeans take the MRT (Mass Rapid Transit) for granted, the warm sun, life, love, and many others. It's not just the fact that he enlightens me on some issues that makes me wanna read more but also the way that he looks at life. It can be a little blue at times but somehow, he gives me insight and wisdom quotes about life and the many other shit you encounter during your time in this world.

Photos
I don't really like taking photos of myself because cameras hate me. THEY DO! Whenever someone takes photos of me, somehow, flaws that i never knew existed would appear and those i know of are emphasised...
I prefer taking my own photos cause then i find out what angles look good on me and i can take more pictures if it doesn't look good. I rarely take pictures of myself though, only once every what? 5, 6 months? I know people who post pictures of themselves on facebook EVERY SINGLE DAY. and when you thought that isn't enough, there are even people who 'like' the photos. Even the ones when the person looks like he or she just got out of bed. But i gotta admit, they must have lots of confidence or high self esteem to be doing that, not that i don't have it, i just don't like taking photos of myself constantly ;P

At 17. I was curious whether i could take a nice photo without having my fringe covering any eye :)

CHRISTMAS is coming!!!!
Well, first and foremost, from the time i learned about Santa Claus, i knew right away that he was fake. Probably because here in Singapore, there are no houses with chimneys but if there is, very few. But i did believe in Tooth Fairies :)
Every year, there'll be decorations and lightings put up in every shopping centre, shops etc. but sadly, my family don't celebrate christmas. But that's gonna CHANGE!!! My friend told me before that although her family don't celebrate christmas, they have 'secret santa' every christmas. That was when i thought my family could do the same. It's hard to change my mom's mind about this and my dad will not want to play along cause he's tired from working everyday so it's just my 4 siblings and i.
One evening, I explained to my 6 year old brother what the whole activity was about. I tore a piece of paper into 5, wrote our names, crumpled and spread them on the floor. Initially, my other 2 brothers didn't want to take part, saying that it was lame. So, to get them to take part in it, i tried to tempt them by saying that my sis and i have more money compared to them and we might buy really great presents but this still failed... My only hope of them taking part was this next move: i chose one crumpled piece of paper, read it and exclaimed loudly 'OH MY GOD!!!!! one of them riased his brows, thought about it a second or two and moved forward to choose his own. the other brother followed suit. Guess they were curious who they might've picked.
Then everyone went back doing their own things (the 3 brothers to their room where they play their PS3, my sister and i to watching our TV).
2 minutes later...
My youngest brother (the 6 year old) ran out to the living room where we were watching TV, slowed down as he got nearer to my sis and whispered 'you picked me right?' ...
Apparently, when the 2 brothers went back to their rooms, they 'exchanged information'. I can't say i'm not surprised... I guess, they asked the youngest brother about his too. From there, either him alone or they all guessed whose names my sis and i drew from the lots.
This activity is NO LONGER called Secret Santa due to the big mouths in the family thank you very much

Fake
Don't pretend that you know everything when you know absolutely nothing and start opinionating on what i think is nice or not, right or wrong, yes or no. You sick person. I just wish you don't choke too much from all that blathering, fake friend. Sometimes, i wish i have an idea where you stand for me to act accordingly.
Happiness
I have never asked people what makes them happy in life. Even if i do ask, it's highly possible that i will forget that the next day. But if this question was to be directed at me, here's what i'd say...
It doesn't have to be just one thing. There are many small AND big things in life that makes the rest of your day shine brighter than the sun. To me at age 18, here are the things that makes my heart smile.

Holidays
Now's the holiday period. 3 weeks in fact. I have 3 weeks of freedom minus about 1 week of doing project work and 4 days of training for an event, i have about 1 week and 3 days to enjoy life before having to return to school and be buried under all the work, notes and more projects. LOVELY
Anyways, since i am enjoying life (by that, i mean watching dramas and movies), i plan to have lots of fun doing so. I wanna go to a fish spa of course by the end of this holiday.

It is where lots of fishes kinda like suck your legs to get rid of the bacteria or something, it is very VERY ticklish, i wanna give it a try! The freshly cleaned and exfoliated skin will feel smooth to the touch :)
So, like i said, i will be watching lots of dramas and movies. Recently, my dad bought this cable TV or something and i now have access to LOTS of movies and dramas.
The drama i am watching right now is 公主嫁到. The english name of the show is 'Can't Buy Me Love'
It's about this 3rd princess who initially, was forced to marry a Tibetan King but using her wit and charm, she convinced the Dowager to let the 3rd princess marry her true love that she faked. Meanwhile, the largest gold manufacturer in Chang'an is being deceived, making the business fall into trouble. The 2nd son therefore has to marry the 3rd princess to save the family business. This fits perfectly with the 3rd princess's plan and she agreed to marry the guy. However, it's not love at first sight for both of them. They met before on the streets and carry a slight hatred for the other. The guy had said on the streets (in chinese) (i remembered this because it was sooo funny):
This is when both of them were being separated and pulled away when the 2 wanted to fight each other

It was soo damned hilarious. I just love watching comedies especially Romantic Comedies! <3
Anyways, they bicker a lot and in many very funny ways. The princess has 4 other sisters but she and the sisters are not of the same mother. Maybe because of this, the 4 do not like her. All of them always compare their husbands, how skillful they are and stuff.
Then, whenever the 3rd princess have to meet them or the dowager or the evil concubine, she and the husband would put up a facade that they're so deeply in love when they're NOT. They slowly start to like each other later on in the series.
Then, there are the other characters. The 3rd brother of the Gold Manufacturer likes this girl he saved from kidnappers. She was alone in the big city so the 3rd brother let her help out in the household so she could have food and shelter as she had nowhere to go. She is a very strong gal but very naive and he has to help her out most of the time. He gradually start to have feelings for her.
I'm only at episode 19 now so, can't say much about the drama YET :)
