Blood Countess

Also known as Elizabeth Báthory

In the 1600s, tales emerged of a murderous Hungarian aristocrat. For years, Countess Elizabeth maintained the normal appearance of normality, while in her castle, she was torturing and murdering scores of innocent girls.

Countess Elizabeth Báthory de Ecsed born 7 August 1560 – 21 August 1614 was a countess from the renowned Báthory family of Hungarian nobility. In Hungarian folklore, she is often described as "the Countess Dracula" and is known as "the woman who bathed in blood." To others, she was the Countess Elizabeth Bathory, mistress of the Csejte Castle, a powerful transylvanian noblewoman and widow of a great Hungarian hero.

Although in modern times she has been labeled the most prolific female serial killer in history, the number of murders and even her guilt is debated.

The Bathory family was old and industrious, one of the oldest in Transylvania. The long line of heritage however, is tainted by dissapointing marriages, despite the fact that Elizabeth's mother was the sister of King Stephen of Poland and her father, George, was ruler of several countries.

Elizabeth was born in a troubled family in 1560, probably a 2nd child. At age 11, she was betrothed to Count Francis Nadasdy (then aged 15), one of the wealthiest and most eligible bachelors in Hungary. They married in 1975 and Elizabeth was sent to live with her mother-in-law, Lady Ursula Kasnizsai, who was widely regarded as a witch. When her mother-in-law died, she joined her husband at the remote and eerie Csejte Castle. Francis, however, was a soldier and spent most of his time in the Hungarian Army, leaving her alone in the gloomy fortress. While there, she was said to be under influence by a woman called Darvula, an old maid who many said was a sorceress.

In 1600, Count Francis was killed in a battle against the Turks, making his wife mistress of the Csejte Castle.

Legend has it that she was a vain woman and used all manner of oils to preserve her skin. One evening, while brushing her hair, a maid accidentally hurt her and with a long spiked brush, Elizabeth hit her, drawing blood. Later, she noticed that where the blood dropped, her skin seemed much fresher. This began her killing rampage, concocting a vile scheme to obtain it at huge quantities.

Elizabeth set on a long and murderous trail because Darvula advised her that if she were to bathe in the blood of virgins, she would regain her youth and looks.

Between 1600 and 1611, with the help of 4 servants, they lured peasant girls from surrounding areas to the castle who sought employment. Once inside, the girls were subjected to inhuman torture before being brutally murdered. The Countess drank and bathed in their blood.

When the supply of local girls beginning to run out, Elizabeth offered to teach social graces to young women from noble families. The disappearance of poor servant girls had passed largely unremarked, but when ladies go missing, word of suspicious happenings spreaded like fire.

Soon local gossip reached the ears of King Matthais of Hungary. In 1611, the King commenced a series of trails against Elizabeth and her servants. A raid was conducted in the castle in late December 1610 which uncovered an underground torture chamber, its walls spattered with blood, with bones and other remains on the ground along with clothing and belongings of missing girls. Elizabeth was accused of killing 80 girls although there was speculation that she killed many more.

Darvula and several of the others were found guilty and were executed but because of Elizabeth's noble rank, she was not. Matthais thought she had a case to answer and commanded she remain at Csejte as punishment.

Stonemasons were brought in and a section of the castle was walled up with the Countess inside. All windows were sealed with only a small hole where she could receive food.

On 31 July 1613, Elizabeth, aged 54, died alone in the confined room. By order of Matthais, her records were sealed for 100 years and her name was forbidden to be mentioned, as was 'Csejthe.'

Over the years, Elizabeth Bathory's crimes have been embellished and turned into gruesome legend. In many retellings, the number of killings reached more than 600 and the Countess's sadism is explained through the lust for blood, which she bathes and drinks.

Below is a documentary about Elizabeth Bathory

Passion for Working

As you grow up, the first 20 or so years of your life is all about wondering what you want to do when you grow up. Where your passion lies in, what makes your heart pound, what you should do with your life. It's difficult. You watch TV and see these amazing jobs that people do and you wonder to yourself that maybe that's the job for you. Then within days or weeks, the excitement wears off and you realise NAH THAT'S NOT ME! and you go off in search of another dream. For others, they knew straight away what they want to do and already started carving their future. And for others even, they found what they believe is their dream but not too sure and maybe put that feeling off for a while or maybe ask or consult others about it.

It's difficult to feel like you do not know what you really want to do in life. You look at others, even your friends and see that they already have a dream in mind and are already working their way toward it while you're still stuck at the bottom. Or that you're already working on your dream but there are so many god damned competitors blocking your route to success.

For me, i want to be an events coordinator or manager. The first time i had such a similar role was in sec school. Chinese New Year is always filled with so much joy and festivities. My friends and i were in the Chinese Language Club or something and we'd be helping the event every year. I joined later so was able to help out for 2 or 3 years. We would help coordinate the event schedule, arrange the timing for performancers, call the performers, help out with the equipments etc. It was so much fun and i loved the thrill of it.

Then my dream was more confirmed when i saw Monica Geller on F.R.I.E.N.D.S planning and coordinating Phoebe Buffay's wedding and i thought to myself, THAT'S WHAT I WANT TO DO.

That's why i went into Events Management. I don't want a job inside some office, I don't want to sit or stand around the whole day. I want to be out making things happen, that's my dream.

But it's difficult with so many obstacles but then again, what's life without them? 加油!!!! (You can do it)

Studying = Painful

(wrote this post a week ago but had no time to post cuz i was studying for exams)

Yes, studying is a painful process. Especially when exams are around the corner or already is. You have to cram information (for the last minute people) work/modules/notes/points in your head as fast as possible, as much as possible and try as you might to score an A in the bloody exam room, rushing for time as that invigilator keep walking here and there.

It's like teachers never were kids once. Don't they remember a time when they had to endure the 'torture' given to them? The endless work that they had to finish? Don't they remember? But if they do then this is purely SADISTIC! Come on! We are you right now back when you were a student in what? 1980?

Let us teenagers do what we want at our own pace, give us a whole 6 months then exams, why cram everything we need to learn in 7/8 weeks with 7 different subjects. It's not like we're friggin robots!

People say that Poly students slack all the time. I BEG TO DIFFER. We're just as busy as any other JC student. It's not like we play all day. It's not like we didn't work for our diplomas. We do work for our diplomas. Like slaves! Poly isn't as slack as you think it is, it's not all fun and games.

The thing is, we have about 6 or 7 modules, some people even 8 and within either 7 or 8 weeks, you must have been able to master everything taught to you, cram them in your head and regurgitate them on several sheets of paper. Then when you do study EVERY SINGLE BLOODY THING in you text, they go on and test only about 10% of what you studied. Creatures from hell alright. Suck the soul right outta me. How can you possibly cram them all in your head??? We're not god. We don't have a photographic memory.

But sometimes, i wish i can stop time so when the exams start, i can freeze time, go to my bag, take out my notes then copy everything i could possibly need and afterwards put them all back in my bag, arranged as it original was and restart time. I'd get As and no one will ever know.

Studying

I hate studying. Nobody likes it, even the nerds. They study cause they want so much to get the As. Anyways, nobody likes it, it prevents us from having fun which is partly the reason why we're living. Some of us even try hard not to have to waste too much time on studying. Some can memorise what they need in a few hours, others days. Yes it's unfair that others can memorise things so fast. No, It does not mean life's unfair. It just means that you have to work twice as hard.

Life's not all fun and games, you got to work hard, really hard to get what you want in life and when things do not go the way you want, rather than whine and regret, just take a deep breath, watch a comedy or two, take a shower, vent it all out and move on. It's not like you can turn back time.

Back to the topic at hand, nobody likes studying but we love knowledge. Be better at what we do or just plain curious about some specific topic. There are so many things i have not known about yet, so many facts to discover, history, geography, diseases, health matters, new discoveries, i want to know many things and the internet can only give you so much. I want to experience so many things that i can one day pass on to my grandchildren, little stories here and there.

I love information, i love knowing more about the world. It's not possible to gather so much in your lifetime but at least i'll know more about a certain topic if anyone talks about it. Fun little facts i can tell people when there's nothing else to talk about. I just love learning. It's so fun!

How I spent the morning of my 2nd Day in Japan

Climate Control
Early in the morning, everyone in the tour group bundled themselves up in their jackets (The locals call it summer but we call it winter) and left our cozy warm hotel. I remember the moment when all of us stepped out of the airport on the 1st day and were greeted by an icy strong wind, that moment was truly unbearable and surprisingly refreshing for me because we Singaporeans who live right down below at the equator do not experience that in our climate at all. Everybody had a common reaction... we 'woah-ed'. And the funny thing is, we were wearing our summer outfits. Well, some of us...

So as soon as we stepped out of the hotel entrance this time, we were more than ready to brave the weather, jackets CHECK, long jeans CHECK, covered shoes and warm dry socks HELL YEAH!

The Wheels on the...

As soon as everybody has boarded the bus, off we went. Luckily, i had a window view this time around. My friend, Shu Yun and i agreed to switch positions everytime we took the chartered bus. So both of us would have a chance to sit next to the window and take photos of our own.

Our tour guide, Mr Tammy San, started making conversations and told us a lot of things we needed to know about Japan. One interesting fact mentioned was that it is very rare to find a plus sized person walking around, that most Japanese are slim or lean.  I guess it may be due to the fact that the locals eat lots of fish or seafood. i don't know :)

So Beautiful...

So many regrets

I just realised that i was not studying up to expectations. I just realised that everyone was studying way ahead of me and i only started 2 weeks before the examinations started. Why have i become so lazy? I can't follow what others do, my clique actually study last minute and i guess i was influenced. Well, they're smart so of course they can afford to study last minute. One or two of them just need one day for them to sink in everything you know!?

Obviously, my chance in that program i've been talking talking about is lost. My only chance of higher possibility in getting to a nice University is dashed. I can't bear to look at the email when they do send me it that'll say, sorry, you are not accepted into the program but we wish the best in your future endevours.

I can't bear to look at that email on the 31March. They're going to send that to me. I just can't bear to look at it. sigh....

Generations

I am from the Strawberry Generation also known as  草莓世代. That's what my chinese teacher said to me once. Something about being dependent on technology, spoiled with it and stuff. I googled it and found that it is in fact not my generation. This is for 1981 to 1991. I'm not in that range, thank god. But this does not really make any sense, you're stereotyping those born in these years as spoiled, 'bruised easily,' etc etc etc.

Then i went on to see something about Generation Y. It refers to the last generation born in the 20th century.

I am in Generation Y!!!
Wikipedia source:
Experts differ on the actual start date of Generation Y. Some sources use starting dates as early as 1976. Other sources use 1978, 1980, or 1982. Generation Y is the group generally considered to be the last generation of children wholly born in the 20th century. And while 1982 is a fairly common start date, some sources use even later dates. Sources citing 1982 mark the end of the generation either in the early or mid-1990s or the early 2000s, with 1982-1995 and 1982-2000 as common ranges.

Another source on the year: Born betweem 1980 and 1996
http://www.proprofs.com/quiz-school/story.php?title=how-well-do-you-know-generation-y
Generation Y has a tendency to be more culturally liberal with many supporting modern yet historically more liberal views in general as well as various other politically liberal stances, but, in spite of the new dominant liberal growth, a growing number of new youth clubs and groups have been created in developed countries to take the task of promoting and preserving conservative views and religious beliefs, such as free market principles and "socially conservative" behavior. Since the 2000 U.S. Census which allowed persons to select more than one racial group, "Millennials" in abundance have asserted their right to have all their heritages respected, counted and acknowledged.

Generation Y'ers are largely the children of the Baby Boomers. Younger members of this generation have parents that belong to Generation X, and some older members have parents that are members of the Silent Generation.

Characteristics of Generation Y (Wikipedia):
  •  Expression and acceptance has been highly important to this generation. In well-developed nations, cohorts of Generation Y members have found comfort in online games. Flas mobbing, internet memes, and online communities have given some of the more expressive Generation Y members acceptance, while online pen pals have given the more socially timid individuals acceptance as well.
  • Generation Y has been described in a New York Times article as entrepreneurial and, "a 'post-emotional' generation. No anger, no edge, no ego
Source from About.com:
Generation Y (also known as the Millennials) is the fastest growing segment of today’s workforce. Common traits of this generation is:
  1. Tech Savvy
  2. Family Centric
  3. Achievement Oriented
  4. Team Oriented
  5. Attention Craving

 Silent Generation:

The Silent Generation refers to the people who were born in the US between the years of 1923 and the early part of the 1940s. This generation was quite small in number as the members were born between the 2 World Wars and during the period of the Great Depression.

Article:
Youth today is waiting for the hand of fate to fall on its shoulders, meanwhile working fairly hard and saying almost nothing. The most startling fact about the younger generation is its silence. With some rare exceptions, youth is nowhere near the rostrum. By comparison with the Flaming Youth of their fathers & mothers, today's younger generation is a still, small flame. It does not issue manifestos, make speeches or carry posters. It has been called the "Silent Generation."

They were termed withdrawn, cautious, unimaginative, indifferent, unadventurous and silent. The generation is also known as the Postwar Generation and the Seekers, when it is not neglected altogether and placed by marketers in the same category as the G.I. or "Greatest" Generation.
In England, they were named the "Air Raid Generation" as children growing up amidst the crossfire of World War II.

Members of the Silent Generation were uniquely poised to take advantage of economic opportunities, thanks to the reduced competition. Many of them went on to harness the scientific and technological advances of the Second World War, developing innovative inventions which laid the groundwork for even more technological progress in the late 20th century. The Silent Generation had a tendency to be better educated than the WWI generation because of not having their schooling interrupted by the Depression and the war.

Baby Boomer:
As of 1998, it was reported that, as a generation, boomers had tended to avoid discussions and planning for their demise and avoided much long-term planning.
Boomers grew up at a time of dramatic social change.... (read more on Wiki page)

An indication of the importance put on the impact of the boomer was the selection by Time magazine of the Baby Boom Generation as its 1966 "Man of the Year". As Claire Raines points out in ‘Beyond Generation X’, “never before in history had youth been so idealized as they were at this moment.”
When Generation X came along it had much to live up to and to some degree in the shadow of the Boomers, sometimes compared and/or criticized (‘spoiled’, ‘whiners’ and ‘the doom generation’) than not. One of the contributions made by the Boomer generation appears to be the expansion of individual freedom. Boomers often are associated with the civil rights movement, the feminist cause in the 1970s, gay rights, handicapped rights, and the right to privacy.

Generation Z:

The generation born after the year 1994 until 2004 is referred to as Generation Z. There is interest in this generation as in another few years the members will be joining the workforce and contributing to the economy of the country and the society. Knowing the characteristics of Generation Z will give people a better understanding what these kids are all about and what motivates them.

Wikipedia:
Generation Z (also known as Generation M (for multitasking), Generation C (for Connected Generation), the Net Generation, or the Internet Generation) is a common name in the US and other Western nations for the group of people born from the early or mid 1990s to the present.

The generation has grown up with the World Wide Web, which became increasingly available from 1991 onwards. The youngest of the generation were born during a minor fertility boom around the time of the US Global financial crisis of the late 2000s decade, ending around the year 2010, with the next "Generation i" succeeding.

Members of Generation Z are typically the children of Generation X; their parents may also include the youngest Baby Boomers as well as the oldest members of Generation Y.

Generation Z is highly connected, as many of this generation have had lifelong use of communications and media technologies such as the World Wide Web, instant messaging, text messaging, MP3 players, mobile phones, smartphone, touchscreen, iPhone, iPod, Zune, iPad, Tablet Computer technologies, and YouTube, earning them the nickname "digital natives".

No longer limited to the home computer, the Internet is now increasingly carried in their pockets on mobile Internet devices such as mobile phones. A marked difference between Generation Y and Generation Z is that members of the former remember life before the takeoff of mass technology, while the latter have been born completely within it. This generation has also been born completely into an era of postmodernism and globalization.

Generation Z are known for curating online at a rapid pace: sharing thoughts and observations on a variety of media, topics and products. With this increasing access to this online information pool, they are more aware of modern day challenges such as terrorism and climate change, along with being exposed to a globalized, multicultural, diverse environment of the internet and social media that greatly influence their decision making process.

School VS Work

I don't know if i will like to start working but i also don't like to study. In school, you have many chances to retry, failures can be turned to success within a matter of time and practice but in real life, when you start working, every decisions you make will have an impact in your future, in your career and there's no second chance (most of the time). I'm not sure about that but it's what people say.

In school, you have holidays but for adults, you don't. You work all day and have almost what? no time for yourself? I have no idea. I'll probably give my opinion on this in 10 years time. I'll have a better view on this by then... I don't wanna grow up yet though but time passes so fast and before you know it, you'll be 50. Hopefully, i'll have a beautiful family, a loving husband and a wonderful career :)

1 Mountain 200 Shops and a HUGE Problem

"There it is! Oh my gawd, isn't it just beeeauutiful??" My friends and i were looking at Mount Fuji from a lane at Gotemba. Gotemba is located in the vicinity of Mount Fuji with scenic surrounds and postcard perfect views of Mount Fuji on a clear day. There's even a giant ferries-wheel up on the hillside.

Gotemba is definitely worth a visit, with a wide choice of brands like Bodyshop, Gucci, Prada, Kate Spade... You get where i'm going. But there are also good value buys plus trendy Japanese labels like United Arrows and Beams. There are actually close to 200 shops there, i couldn't cover everything within our limited shopping time especially when there are 2 shopping zones-East and West- which are 5 minutes of walking time apart, across a picturesque bridge. We moved from East Zone to West Zone and back again, carrying out this cycle over and over until at one point we just decided to take a break right there on the middle of the bridge.

Getting There
Catch a bus from Tokyo Station's Yaesu South Exit which takes you directly to the outlet. But there is only one service per day: departing from 9AM and returning from Gotemba at 3.30PM. The journey takes about 85minutes and will cost 2800Yen (about SGD36).

Spotting a Mountain
"Can you get a picture of Mt. Fuji?" Zhi Yi, one of my 3 friends who were on the trip with me asked.

"I caa-aaaan't see much of it!" tip toeing as high as i could on the brown bench amid on-lookers wondering what we were doing. Standing just across the BodyShop outlet, our view of the majestic mountain was unfortunately obstructed by a high wall. "Oh well", I jumped down from the bench and we moved on, 100% confident that we would somehow find a way to take a photo later on. And so we continued on with our busy window shopping.

Unfortunately, by the time our tour bus was ready and everyone was waiting to get a good photo, the whole tour group, including ourselves, were still not able to take any clear pictures of the mountain. All due to a certain relentless fog. Every time we thought the fog was clearing, out came another one right behind. By the 10th minute, it was really time to leave because we had a schedule to follow (one of the cons of being part of a tour group, you don't have the time to appreciate the beauty of a place much less gather information about it).

Dejected, everyone filed in a single row and went up the bus one by one. The bus driver stepped on the pedal and off we went, bidding our goodbyes to the elusive Mt. Fuji.

Natural Miracle
As we were driving down a lane, the fog around Mount Fuji began to slowly clear away and out came a very beautiful view of the perfect mountain! Apparently, as i later found out, Mount Fuji is always shrouded by the fog and it's incredibly rare to be able to get a clear view of it. The kind tour guide managed to stop the bus driver and we scrambled down the bus to take as many pictures as we could, as well as a group photo to commemorate the wonderful occasion.

Tokyo Tower at night

The Tokyo Tower is more beautiful at night than in the day. This photo was the last photo taken in Japan in my memory stick. What a nice way to end my trip here. I love you Japan! :)

Tokyo Tower

I took this photo while on the bus (which was moving fast by the way)
Thank goodness i was able to at least take a picture of it since there wasn't any tour on to the Tokyo Tower. It was sooo cool!!! I love the look of it and the first time i knew about the tower was through the anime 'Cardcaptor Sakura' where her dreams are always about falling down that tower or something

Both in real life and in cartoon, they still look sooooooo Beautiful...

Going to Vietnam soon...

I've only ended my examinations today and in about 13 more days, i'll be going for my Social Innovation Project in Vietnam... I have absolutely noooo holidays... So sad... At least i'll won't be having any SIP Project when i get home.

I've borrowed a book from the library 'Culture Shock Vietnam' just in case i don't do anything wrong when i go there :)

Stay tuned for pictures from Vietnam :)))

Dear XXX

I am not a guage to what decisions you want to make. Do not use me, i will not play along nor will i attend to you. Make your own decisions, you're old enough to do that. USE ME AGAIN AND I WILL NOT HESITATE TO LIE AND MAKE YOUR LIFE MISERABLE.

Regards
C.Y

P.S i am a nice girl but please don't make me a bit**

Ended Examinations with a sad note

I lost 9 marks on a question because i thought the particular question was regarding a topic but was on another and i lost a whole 9 marks. My life is a mess! I probably lost my dist from that. This sem, i did not work as hard as the last. This is sooo bad. Next sem, i'm aiming higher and no one's gonna stop me from getting there. I will be back at the top, just you wait.

How smelly is the durian?

This is ridiculous... I love Durian, once ate it so much that i had sore throat the next day! My friend said that if she's the one who had to stick her head inside the box, she'd try to lick it! :D hahahahahahgaskjgf

Anyways, boy was i shocked at first to learn that Americans and British find that it taste like what? Gym socks? It was very very very amusing! I've never tasted gym socks in Durian, nor Onions, nor sewage etc. It's ridiculous that you'd rather smell vomit, shit and what? rotten eggs than the wonderful Durian?

I don't get it but who cares, i just love Durians.

Just some random entry

People procrastinate many times in their lives, be it work, studies, chores, life.. etc. The thing is, it's boring, you're tired, you don't want to do the pain in the ass task but lets face it, it's not like we can avoid it. You might then later find something to do to keep you preoccupied probably for the next 5 minutes. No big deal. Just 5 minutes of watching Ellen Degeneres videos on YouTube. Probably a little more videos since it's so short, blah blah blah and before you know it, one hour have passed and you have not accomplished a single task you were supposed to undertake. All because you wanted to enjoy a little freedom before having to be pushed to the 'duties' of the day.

I had to study for an examination a few weeks ago and i was supposed to be studying for a module one saturday but as i woke up that day, i watched VCDs and DVDs, went to Facebook, laughed at some jokes by 9Gag or Fucked up facts, Chandler Bing's Sarcasm and stuff, went to plaza to buy some food to stimulate my brain into 'studying mode' and ended roaming the book sale that was going on and before i knew what had happened, i wasted a whole day. Yup.

I did nothing for the day. NAUGHT. Thinking back, i shouldn't have procrastinated so much because right now, i am squeezing time to study for 2 more module examinations. I hate exams. Isn't life already a never ending test? Life is so much more harder after school life so why make our teenage years so miserable? Anyways, going on, i get REALLY lazy sometimes. But then what my mother say would always come to my mind when i feel obnoxious or just plain blue: "When you think you're lazy, there's always someone lazier. If you think you're beautiful, there's some one more gorgeous. If you think you're smart, there's always someone smarter," the list goes on if you think about it. Everyone's different in their own unique way. It's not what you have that makes you stand out but what you have different that separates you from the rest. You're unique in your own weird perfect way so you shouldn't try to change yourself  to suit the rest. Life's not fun if you play by society's standards.

You may not find yourself now but in time you'll realise who you're meant to be. What part you'll play in this world. When you're older, have an epiphany or finally leave that small little box, you'll find that what had made you so god-damned special or 'weird' from those jerks and naysayers  had actually been your pillar of strength all along.

I used to be from a netball team. I hung out with the 'cool' senior girls and then they pointed out to some outcast of the netball team and asked me whether i think she was weird and i said no and i talked to the 'weird' girl and by the next practice, i was an outcast. It's sad really. That just because you're different from most people, you're treated like some shit. This is the sort of social stigma i hate. Then when you see others making friends with them, you think they're crazy or you're weird as well. Well, i have no idea why but all my life, i have friends who are perfectly and beautifully weird and only come to realise recently that i will never EVER compromise my beliefs and think the way the naysayers do anymore. If you think i'm weird as well, i don't care. I never cared before i made friends with them and i never will care. People say that the friends you make says something about yourself. I proclaim myself to be weird as well. I really am but that's for another post, it's a long story.

Anways, I don't care what you think. They're my friends. YOU'RE NOT. So back off bitches :) I love the way you look but too bad you're rotten inside.

When i moved on...

The sun shines on my face again, i hope you don't reappear in my life anymore. Just leave me with the perfect memories. That's enough.

3 exams done, 3 more to go, hope i stay strong

UNLUCKY

These few days, it seems like a dark cloud is hovering above me. On Tuesday, i didn't bring my laptop for my important exam that requires a LAPTOP. I went into the examination room, plugged in my charger into the socket and was about to connect it to my laptop and realised to tremendous shock "WHER'S MY LAPTOP????" and dashed out the room.

i half cried and ran to the office to find a laptop i could probably use until a lecturer approached me and asked what was wrong, i explained the situation to her and thankfully, i was able to use a computer in another room. However, when i started doing my AutoCadd, i was using the 2010 version instead of my 2011 version and wasted a whole lot of time even with the fact that i started later than everyone else.

In the end, i did not manage to finish everything and after the lecturer said for like the 3rd time to save and transfer the folder to the school's system and i did it, i broke down. Cried for what seemed like forever.

Just now was my Audio Visual System exam. I studied for it like a week ago and started recaping yesterday night and early morning. On the way to school after i already finished recapping for everything, my mind started to blank out and i couldn't seem to remember anything. I began to freak out. This could probably be because i have not eaten anything except for the spoonfuls of noodles. So i bought a tuna pancake and ate it before getting into the examination room to get my brain cells working.

In the end, everything went well, i do hope it does... I counted and upon a 100, i got 82. Which is dangerous cause i could easily drop to 70+, dropping a grade. I'm so uptight about grades for this period of time because i need into the program and for that to happen, i need to maintain my good grades.

There's a lot of pressure on me. I hope i pull through.
I hope nothing bad happens anymore... I still have 4 more exams to go. Please let lady luck be with me.

I fear that i can't finish studying Econs in time for the exam and the next one after it. Please, let me pull through...

F&B Examination Over

1 down, 5 more to go... and i've counted that it was about 86/100 that i've gotten... It doesn't look like a distinction though.. And this is the 2nd easiest module of all my modules. Tmr is the easiest one, Auto Cadd followed by Audio Visual Equipments on Thursday. All this i'm alright with except for the next 3 exams. Econs, Marketing and Events Creation & Market Research. I have not studied at all for them yet cause the whole of last week i was studying for my Audio Visual. My friend said that she will probably start studying the day before the econs paper and i was like WHAT?

This is sooo god damned unfair. Why is life so fucking unfair to me. I can't study as fast as the others and i work 3 times as hard or even 10times as hard of what seems like a piece of cake to them. Life is so friggin unfair. I feel like i did not work hard enough for F&B... I want NEED the distinctions to get into the program that will give me all the opportunities for a perfect portfolio. Come on, please let me get into the program. But i need the distinctions first... Please let me win this war.

Until Victory

Playing the sentence game

Ok, Let's Play The Sentence Game
I'm starting to get tensed up again... Calm down... Calm down... Take deep breaths, you can do this. You lived through O levels, you can definitely survive this

Bought New Clothes

The other day, i had bought a nice shirt/blouse i had been eyeing for so long. It looked pretty good and at quite a good bargain.
$15 only!

And this other one i bought like weeks ago but forgotten about it.
$10 :)
It's a little wrinkled but it's ok :)

Pearl Milk Tea

I am getting addicted to pearl milk tea. I'm not sure if pearl milk tea is available in the US or European countries etc. but Singapore has an abundant supply of this magnificent drink. What i know though is that Pearl Milk Tea originated from Taiwan.

In this cold drink, the milk is not thick and actually rolls off your tongue, leaving a fine tea aftertaste  The black pearls at the bottom is soft to chew and you can even select the drink's sugar level that you prefer. It is so damned delicious and you have not experienced life if you have never tried it before! My words don't do justice to how milk tea tastes like but all this describing makes me wanna go buy it now but have to study!!!

When everyone's moved on, i have not. It somehow seems like centuries before i will be able to let go of that ridiculous hope that somehow things will go my own way. That perhaps we are still a close or perhaps we're still good friends or perhaps blah blah blah

I believe in hope too easily and get crushed like sand when it never existed in the first place

Life's not worth living if you keep concentrating on what you think should matter most in your life. Accept what cannot be controlled and be grateful for what you have. Count your blessings.

but there will always be something at the back of your head telling you otherwise
Life's gonna give you all kinds of shit and sometimes, you gotta learn to accept the fact the nothing in this world's fair. All you have to do is tell yourself to move on. Things happen for a reason, if it's meant to be, it will be.

Another day another challenge

Time is rushing and it's not going to be all fun and games in the next 2 weeks or so. I'll be rushing to complete topics for exams and probably going a little nuts (hope not)

Anyways, lately, i have been having problems with a grouping for a project that will be a year long one. I'm  going to be working with people i'm not used to but they're nice people. Except for one girl though, i feel like she doesn't like me but i may be thinking too much. Anyways, screw what she thinks. I have been able to control my own stress after a counselling session with my trusted counsellor, she helps me open my mind and helps me learn to take things calmly.

I hope i survive this war (exam) and get into the program that i so desire. It would really help me in the future if i do get in. Please oh please let me get in....

I gotta go now, lessons gonna start soon at 9am and i haven't even finished my hot cup of Milo.

Actions to take

Since i have decided to take a program called the SIP (Social Innovation Project) at Vietnam rather than locally, i will be able to skip the SIP program that will oversee 2 semesters in my next year. Therefore, i will have more time for my Integrated Event Project and a little more time than the normal events student. Anyways, it's not all fun and games at the Vietnam trip, i have to build some stuff and before embarking on the trip there, i have theory lessons on designing and stuff for 1 week. It's literally no freedom. I have no holidays. I'm actually spending my holidays at Vietnam, half studying and half enjoying my holidays there. I'm gonna miss my family though. I'll definitely be homesick. I still remember the last time i went Japan which was 9 days 8 nights, i was already quite homesick, Vietnam is going to be worse, it's 21 days!

Anyways, it'll teach me to be stronger and absence will make the heart grow fonder right? I'll treasure my family more after this experience (probably already a little cause of the Japan Trip) but i'll still be learning new stuff and not to worry, i'll post pictures of my 21 days there. I'm gonna take BEAUTIFUL photos... <3 Don't miss them :) I'm taking off from Singapore on the 11th of March, still a few weeks left. My exams are coming soon. Nect week that is, i have no IDEA why i am still on Blogger.

I hate school. I hate it so much. I've always liked going to school,. Now i loathe it. I know i shouldn't be saying this but i wish i can start working already.
Seriously, when life gives you lemons, squeeze them at your enemies and throw the damned thing at them when it's dried out
Who the hell created economics! I hate it so much. I hate anyhting that concerns math. That's the reason i came into events management. To AVOID math and what do i get? Math RELATED subjects. This is just bullshit.

3 February 2012

i don't know if i like this Integrated Project grouping... I don't know... Should i change now before it's too late?

Blood Type

So damned true! One thing bad though, mine's type A which is pessismistic and coupled with my horoscope Virgo which is also famous for being pessimsitic, it's like DOUBLE TROUBLE...
